Dolby Atmos Installation Guildford

Dolby Atmos has made its way from the film sets and post production suites all the way into your living rooms across the UK, Dolby Atmos has quickly become one of the most important and impressive technologies in home cinema. Amtos is a surround sound technology that was developed in 2012.

It expands upon the current 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound setups with surround channels an effect coming from overhead this is crucial point about Atmos enveloping the audience in a dome of sound.

Up to 400 speakers can be used in the top professional Dolby Atmos cinemas, but in the domestic environment it’s unlikely you will have a large enough room. For home systems there are a number of simpler options but we have found none of the sound bars or up firing add on module type budget speakers actually separate the channel effects effectively and allow you to unleash Atmos in its full glory.

From our experience Atmos requires the speaker placement to be where you would expect that particular effect to come from when watching a movie room size has to be taken into account, most rooms will only lend themselves to speakers setup as front left, Front right & Front centre, 2x surround left and rights and two or 4x in ceiling Atmos height effects, if the room is longer then we may opt for 2x extra speakers in the rear but this is really only used in the dedicated cinema rooms we provide.
